I (Sujarda Herring) understand that I have a responsibility to protect and respect your privacy and look after your personal data.

For clarity, I may be both data controller and data processor for your personal data under certain circumstances.

Who am I?
I am an accredited and certified Hypnotherapist, Reiki Therapist and EFT Therapist qualified and insured to deliver a range of alternative and holistic therapies to help people through better living. I am the founder of Space to Tame and the UK Reiki Federation Area representative for Edinburgh and the Lothians.
How the law protects you
Data protection laws state that I am only able to process personal data if I have valid reasons to do so.
How do I collect personal data from you?
I receive information about you from you when you decide you’d like to work with me (or if you contact me to potentially work together).
What type of data do I collect from you?
The personal data that I may collect from you includes some of the following (depending on what services you are using): your name, email address, telephone numbers, home address, partner details, family situation, mental health history, any physical issues (that might for example affect how you receive a treatment such a Reiki or Hypnotherapy), and any other RELEVANT information which might impact your therapy experience.
I may also contact you to collect testimonials, feedback, stories/photos to share and educate the wider community (with your EXPRESSED CONSENT TO SHARE). These will not be shared without your consent.
How do I use your data?
I use information about you to support you during your experience.
Retention periods
I will keep your personal data for the duration of the period you are a customer or client. I shall retain your data only for as long as necessary in accordance with applicable laws.
If we have worked together on a one-to-one basis, I will need to keep your records for up to 7 years after our work together. I may not be able to delete your data before this time due to legal and/or accountancy obligations with my insurance company. I may also keep it for research or statistical purposes. I assure you that your personal data shall only be used for these purposes stated herein.
Who has access to your personal data?
I do not and never shall sell your personal data to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
Your rights
You have the right to object to my use of your personal data, or ask me to delete, remove or stop using it if there is no need for me to keep it. This is known as your right to be forgotten. There are legal and accountancy reasons why I will need to keep your data, but please do inform me if you think I am retaining or using your personal data incorrectly.
My Privacy Notice shall be made clear to you at the point of collection of your personal data.
Accessing and updating your data
Please let me know if your information (email address etc) changes.
You have the right to access the information I hold about you. Please email your requests to sujarda@spacetotame.com so that I can obtain this information for you.

Where I store your personal data
I follow legal standards to keep digital data password protected and secure. Print data and notes are locked securely in accordance with the law and regulatory body guidelines of which I am a voluntary member of.

As the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure, I cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to my site and any transmission is at your own risk. I will use strict procedures and security features to prevent unauthorised access to the very best of my own ability but I do not have the ability to control the security of the other organisations.
I am assured that all these services do have very tight security infrastructure and will not pass on your details to any third party organisations.
Any sensitive data (payment details, session notes for example) are encrypted and protected.
Where I have given you (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of my website and/or online programmes, you are responsible for keeping the password confidential. I ask you not to share a password with anyone.

I agree to take reasonable measures to protect your data in accordance with applicable laws.

In the event of a data breach, I shall ensure that my obligations under applicable data protection laws are complied with where necessary.
